About this Breed
The Bohemian Shepherd, or Chodský pes, is a breed of herding dog originating from the Czech Republic (or rather, in the Bohemia region that is now considered part of the Czech Republic). This breed has a rich history and is known to have been around as early as the 14th century. The Bohemian Shepherd’s work drive makes them a great choice for a herding breed, and their stable temperaments make them amiable companions to boot. This breed will do best living in an area where they have space to roam and a job to do, although a properly-exercised Bohemian Shepherd could also be at home in a suburban environment. This is not a breed typically recommended for urban families due to their need to work.
