About this Breed
The Dogue de Bordeaux, also known as the French Mastiff, is a massive breed from unknown origins. There are ranging opinions on whether or not the Dogue is more mastiff or bulldog. Proper socialization is a must at an early age, but otherwise these are friendly and devoted pets. The breed has served as a guard dog, a war dog, a cattle herder, a boar-hunting dog, and in many other working roles. Despite their working nature, these dogs do not require the exercise one would expect. The Dogue can get by on a couple easy walks per day. Expect a lot of drool with these big fellows!
