During the time of quarantine, the number of people bringing a dog into their family has skyrocketed. We created Camp Embark to help you set your new dog up for success now but also after shelter-in-place ends.
Camp Embark is giving dog owners training tips all throughout summer, helping you reduce the chance of separation anxiety when you return to normal activities and get to know your new family member better in the process. We’ve partnered with professional trainers to share new lessons each week that owners can try with their dogs.
It’s one thing to take care of a dog when everyone’s home, but it’ll be more of a challenge once people start going back to work. The goal of Camp Embark is to train our dogs for the future and prepare them to be their best selves while we can spend this time with them.
The Camp Embark Manifesto
Every Pup Scout will come out of Camp Embark with a solid training routine that they can build on in the future. Throughout the next few weeks, we’ll cover topics like:
- Basic commands (Sit, down, stay)
- How to walk on a leash, and recall your dog
- Keeping your dog from barking
- Preventing separation anxiety
- Socialization even when social distancing
- Practicing good manners with guests
Training is a great way to bond with your dog, and there’ll be plenty of other fun to have as well. We’ll share printable activities, social media challenges, and weekly giveaways over the course of Camp Embark.
Camp Embark is also a way to connect (virtually) with other campers. You can follow us on Instagram and share you and your pup’s summer memories with #CampEmbark.
Good pups deserve recognition
No camp is complete without merit badges. You can earn a new badge each week by signing up for the Camp Embark newsletter. Once you have your badge, feel free to show it off with a picture of your pup on social media.
But wait, there’s more! Every badge you collect will also enter you into that week’s t-shirt giveaway.
Because yes, we definitely have t-shirts.
