Colombian Fino Hound

The Colombian Fino Hound — sometimes called the Fino Colombiano — is a distinctive South American scent hound from Colombia. The breed is known for its endurance, sensitivity, and remarkable ability to work across Colombia’s varied terrain, from dense tropical forests to steep Andean foothills.

Shaped by a blend of local pack hounds, Iberian hunting dogs, and later European scent hounds, the Colombian Fino Hound is a medium-sized, athletic dog built for endurance with a refined head and long, pendulous ears. Its short coat comes in a variety of traditional hound colors, both solid and with white patches.
Colombian Fino Hounds are generally calm, gentle, and social with their families. Their hunting background lends a more active nature, so they do best with daily mental and physical activity.
