2015

In 2015, two scientist brothers set out to decode the history and health of dogs. Embark is founded.

2016

Amish Desai is a seasoned executive known for leadership in consumer retail across financial, retail, and strategic development areas. As CEO and Board Member of Embark Veterinary, Inc., a global leader in dog health and genetics, he drives customer-centric innovation and multi-channel growth strategies.
Appointed CEO in December 2023 after serving as CFO since July 2022, Amish brings over 20 years of consumer-focused leadership across multi-scale global brands. His extensive retail experience includes transformational roles at Victoria's Secret, Henri Bendel, and J. Jill, where he played a key role in the company's transition from private equity to a successful public offering. Previously, as Senior Vice President at Rue Gilt Groupe, he led comprehensive finance functions including M&A and strategic planning.
Amish's expertise spans strategic planning, financial planning and analysis, retail operations, customer insights, and business acquisition integration across multinational public and private companies. His focus at Embark centers on accelerating innovation, expanding category awareness, and growing multi-channel distribution while supporting pet parents through core DNA offerings and new product development.
He began his career at Deloitte and holds an MBA from Lehigh University. Amish is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Management Accountant, serves as an advisory board member to Stylecard, Vice Chairman and board member of the South Shore YMCA, and is a founding member of The F Suite, connecting executives across leading venture capital and high-growth technology companies.

Stacy Hoover
Chief Product Officer
Stacy Hoover is the Chief Product Officer at Embark Veterinary, where she oversees product, design, and technology. Her background is in design, and that shows in how she leads: the customer sits at the center of every decision, and the teams she runs are the ones responsible for delivering pet parents' experience and improving it for the future. Before Embark, she spent her career building consumer products at companies including The RealReal and Ellevest.
Her own dog, Layla, a Bernese Mountain dog mix, was Embarked, a small, personal reminder of the pet parents on the other end of everything her team builds.

With a background in both startup and high-growth environments, Tali brings deep expertise in organizational strategy and design, change leadership, and customer-centric operations. She has held senior HR leadership roles across the biotech and healthcare companies in the US and abroad.
At Embark, Tali partners closely with the team to align people and customer strategies to the company’s long-term goals, guiding teams through transformation, scaling, and strategic change. As a dog mom, she understands firsthand the joys and challenges of pet parenthood and is driven every day by Embark’s mission to provide the insights and tools pet parents need to better understand and care for their dogs.

A CPA with over a decade of experience in public accounting, startups, and high-growth corporate environments, she is known for fostering cross-functional collaboration and integrating financial insights into strategic decision-making. Grace has a proven track record of building high-performing finance organizations that ensure accuracy and compliance while driving long-term growth, and as an animal lover, she is inspired by Embark’s mission to help people better understand and care for their dogs.

Jeff Borsuk
VP, Marketing
Jeff Borsuk is the Vice President of Marketing at Embark Veterinary. He leads the marketing team, and a lot of his job comes down to one thing: making sure that what people hear about Embark matches what the product actually delivers. Dog DNA is fascinating, but it can be hard to explain. Jeff cares most about turning real genetics into something an owner can understand, trust, and act on.
He has spent his career helping consumer brands grow, most recently as CMO at Reel Paper and before that as Head of Growth at Harper Wilde. He also spent four years at CLEAR, building its digital business from the ground up.
His connection to Embark started before he worked here. In 2019, he and his family fostered and then adopted Hank and Cody, two dogs who had been found together. Everyone assumed they were littermates, but no one knew for sure. Embark confirmed they were full siblings and revealed a breed mix no one saw coming: Boxer, Pit Bull Terrier, German and Australian Shepherd, Rottweiler, Chow Chow, and a bit of Supermutt. Jeff came to Embark as a customer first, and that early sense of discovery is still the bar he holds the team's work to.

Kari Cueva
Director of Science
Dr. Cueva joined Embark in 2019 to help us expand our testing capabilities and shape the future of canine care. After earning her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis, she worked as a researcher in a canine genetics lab, followed by research fellowships at Cornell University and the National Institutes of Health. Embark actually tests multiple mutations she helped discover. Dr. Cueva also practices emergency medicine at a local animal hospital.
