Perdiguero de Burgos

The Perdiguero de Burgos, also known as the Spanish Pointer or Burgos Pointing Dog, is one of Spain’s oldest and most respected gun dogs. Originating in the province of Burgos in northern Spain, this large pointing breed was developed as a versatile hunter. Combining dignity, strength, and a naturally cooperative nature, the Perdiguero is admired for its steady temperament, exceptional scenting ability, and classical pointer style.

Its short, dense coat offers protection in brush as it hunts, and its earthy liver-and-white coloring provides excellent camouflage in the field. Calm and steady, Perguero de Burgos are highly trainable and thoughtful. Social with other dogs, they’re very people-oriented and thrive in homes where they can be quite active and well-integrated with the family.
