There is no treatment except for regular monitoring by your veterinarian and routine dental care.

Brush your dog’s teeth regularly with a dog-safe toothbrush and toothpaste to help protect weakened enamel and prevent buildup.

This mutation was first described in Parson Russell Terriers.

Penetrance: This disease is inherited in an autosomal recessive manner, meaning that affected dogs must have two copies of the mutation to show clinical signs.
