About this Breed
The Catahoula Leopard Dog is a hardy but striking working dog. The origin of the breed is somewhat cloaked in mystery, but they are believed to have come from a mixture of dogs brought over by early Spanish settlers in Louisiana. The first Catahoula clubs started popping up in the 70’s. With a fantastic working drive, these dogs are used to track wild hogs and drive cattle.
