The East Siberian Laika comes in many coat colors! Like other Laika breeds, this does include the wolfy agouti coloring, but they can also be black, black-and-tan, white, sable, red, and brown.

    The East Siberian Laika has deep roots in the vast regions of Siberia, where it was developed to assist hunters in tracking and capturing large game in harsh, cold environments. Laikas are ancient Russian dogs, with a history dating back thousands of years. The East Siberian Laika was bred from indigenous dogs native to the region, known for their ability to work in extremely cold and rugged terrain. Traditionally, the East Siberian Laika was used for hunting moose, elk, and bears, and its strong prey drive and tracking abilities made it invaluable to hunters. The breed was also employed as a sled dog and protector of livestock. Today, the East Siberian Laika is still highly respected for its hunting prowess and is also kept as a companion in active households who appreciate its independent spirit.

    The East Siberian Laika is a medium-sized, robust, and versatile hunting dog with a dense double coat designed to protect it from the harsh Siberian climate.
