About this Breed
The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is the 18th most popular dog in the United States. The breed originated from the United Kingdom in the 18th century. A Duke named John Churchill, was impressed with the dog’s ability to keep up with his horse and used the dog for hunting. The breed experienced a setback during the Second World War, undergoing hardship and a sharp deduction in numbers. Only six Cavalier King Charles Spaniels survived to create the line of Spaniels we know today. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel loves to be with people and will quickly become attached if given attention.
